About This Series:

This series was inspired by a recent Forbes article by Javier Hasse, which does a great job of capturing the numbers, the pressures, and the business realities shaping today’s cannabis landscape.

But as I read through the article, I couldn’t help noticing a familiar omission, one that shows up again and again across the industry: the near-complete absence of a medical frame of reference.

We keep talking about markets, margins, and mergers, but rarely about the biology. Where is the discussion about the lived, measurable ways this plant interacts with the human body? I’m not referring to (typically empty) consultation rooms tucked into dispensaries or “medical” advice offered by well-meaning staff. I’m talking about the real physiological impact of cannabis on human health. I’m referring to the core driver in the industry that almost everyone continues to overlook on the priority list.
