Recipe for Making Your Own Cannabis Extraction

Ingredients:

- Cannabis flower

- High-proof alcohol (e.g., Everclear)

Instructions:

1. Mix Cannabis and Alcohol:

- Combine the cannabis with about double its volume of high-proof alcohol in a glass jar. Ensure the cannabis is fully submerged.

- Agitate the mixture whenever possible to help extract more cannabinoids and terpenes.

2. Evaporate the Alcohol:

- Allow the mixture to sit in an open, well-ventilated area. Heat and alcohol don’t mix; they can explode. Use caution.

- Over days to weeks, the alcohol will turn darker shades of green and as the alcohol evaporates it gets thicker as it extracts the medicinal components from the cannabis, and the alcohol slowly evaporates.

- Periodically swish the mixture to prevent a thick film from forming on top, which can slow down evaporation.
